These photos were taken when on a trip to the town of Nagercoil, quite a few years ago. Some friends and I had made the trip together, and I had left my boys and Timmy back in Chennai… I had the camera with me, so I went a bit photo-crazy on this trip! But, it was so special to see the beautiful, open fields and the skies, and as I look at the pictures now, I’m so thankful for these memories – that even though we’re still trying to be careful, and not travel during this pandemic season, I can still enjoy these memories of God’s beautiful creation.

This photo was taken atop the aqueduct that we had climbed up, and it was such a fantastic view! All those beautiful green trees, and then the water flowing past, as people washed their colourful clothing by the banks of the river Parali. The pillars of this aqueduct are about 115 feet tall, and this Mathoor Aqueduct was constructed in 1966 as a drought relief measure. As we walked across the aqueduct, I felt so tall and invincible, as I looked down to the tiny people who I could see on the ground! It was a special experience 🙂

Isaiah 55:8-9

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
